How did we spend the inaugural Hinterland Wedding Showcase? One splendid hinterland weekend, three stunning venues and lots of loved up brides & grooms-to be!
Let’s first visit our country manor stylings at a very special place indeed…. but firstly a big congratulations to Meg & Nathan, the lucky winners of our $2000 styling package from the weekend. We are so excited to style their upcoming wedding at Maleny Manor next year!
There are so many breathtaking features at Maleny Manor, it can be hard to decide which way to look. Eventually though, we decided on an elegant ceremony under the majestic tree, a country garden party on the rolling lawns and a ravishing reception in the Pavilion overlooking the valley. The ceremony altar was of rustic chocolate brown timber swathed in ivory fabric and completed with trailing greens and decadent blooms.
One of our favourite pieces, our century-old school desk was a unique registry table, and our handsome leather Chesterfields formed an outdoor room – ideal for watching the lawn games, or for enjoying whisky & cigars after dinner. The rich browns formed the basis of our country luxe colour palette, with armloads of creamy whites, peaches, burgundy & dusty blue, and touches of mulberry & lavender.
Mondo Floral Designs have an awe-inspiring talent for taking a colour palette and turning it into floral masterpieces, from bouquets to lush table arrangements to huge fragrant swags that frame the hinterland views. Our French chandelier had pride of place in the Pavilion, above long timber tables draped in fine white linen, French lace runners and positively shimmering with crystal and vintage silverware. Hand-drawn table numbers and name cards brought a bespoke element, along with hand-painted signs, including the mouth-watering Maleny Manor menu.
The beauty of country manor luxe is truly in the details, from designer flatware layered with eclectic vintage china and topped with the ‘family silver’… we adore our burgundy velvet ribbons, which extended the rich floral colours along the table beautifully…
Yes, these wedding cakes did taste as good as they look! The incredible Lee from Cake Designs brought a selection of his divine creations, including the infamous Naked Cake, and Ivory & Gold Ruffled 3 Tier!
Next, we are off to Spicers Clovelly Estate, a truly elegant gem nestled in the hills of charming Montville. Stylish and intimate weddings are the order of the day at this European-inspired estate, and the award winning cuisine is unparalleled…
In the relaxed luxury of Spicers, a simple yet elegant French-inspired ceremony felt like the perfect match – whites & ivories teamed with vintage pastels and accented with whimsical greenery and country timbers. Our white East Hampton chairs sat prettily against the manicured lawns, and a timber altar swathed in ivory fabric & lace was protected by the majestic Jacaranda. The post-ceremony garden party included our Provence sofa & armchairs and beautifully rustic features such as a large wicker ‘Gift basket’ and a large picnic blanket with cushions. Oh, and of course – champagne!
On the Library Deck, we created differnt styled reception dining tables, to showcase the different layers of styling within the colour palette. Our first design featured our timber trestle tables and armloads of luscious blooms. The florals featured verdant greenery, soft vintage pastels and pops of punchier colour. Hand-painted menus, timber trunk tealight stands and decadent floral swags all created a feel of relaxed luxury.
It was all about prettiness and romance for an alternative design, with vintage crystalware aglow in the afternoon sunlight, fragrant blossoms in an array of gentle pinks and French linen napkins. Hand-painted nametags sat prettily upon the napkins, accented with a small bow of twine. French grey candle sticks added height to the setting, and the creamy candles emphasised the feel of vintage romance.
From one lush hinterland location to the next, this weekend was a joy for all the senses… our third venue was Montville Country Cabins… a glorious retreat on rolling acreage in the Montville hills… our design team was utterly inspired by the relaxed surrounds (and this enchanting tipi by Tipi Luxe) to create a true bohemian wedding rhapsody!
On a tranquil plateau where the emerald lawns stretch to the lakeside, our ceremony design was oh so simple to allow the focus to be on the breathtaking backdrop of towering eucalypts, shimmering water dotted with lilypads and the azure sky. Timber slat chairs, antique wooden steamer trunks and a bamboo canopy draped in sweet lace, gave a hint of the romance to come… step inside the glorious tipi…
Our timber slat tables paired beautifully with rattan benches and our ornate burgundy vintage sofa as the perfect bridal seating. The colour palette featured a base of warm neutrals especially pale latte and ivory, paired with bleached timbers and aged woods. Swags of greenery and armloads of richly coloured florals brought nature inside in such a joyous celebratory way.
We adore boho is all about the juxtaposition of textures, colours and objects in an unexpected, relaxed yet luxe way. Glowing candles, repurposed timbers, floral cushions, Nanna’s china, hints of lace, beautiful linens artfully crumpled, shimmering crystal and a riot of colour. Our favourite feature accent were the vintage brass vessels, which shone in the afternoon light and even more so once the candles and firepit were lit. We could imagine sipping red wine here, with our nearest and dearest, late into the night. The perfect space for love, laughter and happily ever after.
What a glorious weekend ~ thank you to all the lovely brides & grooms to be that we had the chance to meet, thank you to the incredible teams at Maleny Manor, Spicers Clovelly Estate and Montville Country Cabins, Calli B Photography for the amazing images, Tipi Luxe for the incredible tipi, Mondo Floral Designs for the stunning blooms and Cake Designs for the dazzling cakes.
Always a pleasure to work with you all xo
